Off the shores of Ala Moana Park (Oahu) floated around 2,200 wooden and paper lanterns honoring loved ones from all walks of life who have passed away. Sponsored by Shinnyo-En Hawaii and the Na Lei Aloha Foundation, the annual Lantern Floating Ceremony is a Hawaii tradition.  This year's event saw more an 40,000 people from around the world experience the same moment of loving memory and a call for world peace....

I created hawaii fish eye to share with people across the world images of everyday life in Hawaii. With family living as far away as Europe, my hope is that this daily photography journal of images and experiences will bring the Islands home to family and friends.
