When we were kids we used to cut both ends of the leaf stems

and rinse out the tube like stems. We make would make bubbles

from detergent and use it like giant straws to blow bubbles.

Other times we would cut a slit at one end, place a small piece

of banana leaf like a reed and blow on it like a flute.
